SugarBearHair Review: 3 Month Results
This is a partnered post with SugarBearHair, however all opinions in this post are 100% my own.
As some of you may already know if you follow along on Instagram, I've recently partnered with SugarBearHair to help maintain my curly locks. It's been 3 months now that I've been taking their delish gummy vitamins & I'm so excited to share my experience with you guys.
Firstly, I feel I should mention that I've tried quite a few different brands of hair vitamins in my day and SugarBearHair is by far my favorite. Why? Because they taste so damn good & I actually look forward to taking them in the morning!
Before I started taking SugarBearHair vitamins I measured the length of my hair from the bottom of my ear lobe to the ends of my hair. The initial hair length was 11" long. As you can see in the photo, I pulled my curls straight for this measurement because shrinkage is a very real curl situation. Basically how tight my curls are on a given day depends on a ton of different factors like weather, products used, etc. By pulling my curls straight I was able to get an accurate hair length.
At the 3 month mark I measured my hair again. This time my hair measured just shy of 12" long. Average hair growth per month for most people is a 1/4-1/2 an inch. Based on that, I'd say my growth was pretty average. To be honest I'm not really surprised, this isn't a magical hair growth gummy, it's a vitamin. My hair didn't grow a crazy amount, but it is getting the vitamins it needs to be healthy from the inside out. And that's exactly why I like to take them, because as someone who bleaches & dyes my hair a lot, that inner hair health is very important to me.
The only draw back I saw from these vitamins is that they did make me break out quite a bit when I first started taking them. I backed off of the recommended two bears a day to one bear a day for about a week until my body and skin adjusted to them. Once my skin cleared up I went back to taking two bears a day and my skin has been a-ok ever since.
And if you're wondering if I'll continue to take them, the answer is yes! I'm curious to see if the longer I take them the better my growth results will be. Maybe after 6 months I'll look like Cousin It!
