DIY: Iridescent Catchall

I bought a catchall from the Target Dollar Spot, aka where all my dreams come true, back in February. It was white with an adorable pink insert, but I couldn't help but feel like it could be a bit more fun. Cut to me finding my stash of iridescent cello paper and this easy DIY was born. If you're a fan of anything that could be described as "unicorn" or "mermaid", then this catchall is definitely for you!

MATERIALS:

  • A catchall or tray of your choosing (bonus points if you make one yourself)
  • Iridescent cellophane
  • Scissors or X-acto knife
  • Mod Podge glue
  • A brush to apply the glue
  • Acrylic sealer

STEP ONE:

Lay the cellophane on top of the catchall and cut out a piece that will fit along the bottom edges.

Step Two:

Apply glue to the bottom of the catchall and use a brush to spread it evenly. Make sure to get enough glue around the edges so your cello won't pop up. Then lay your cello in place! Using a credit card or something firm to smooth out the air bubbles is super helpful for this step!

Step Three:

Once the glue has dried it's time to seal that sucker! I used the sealer mostly around the edges to make sure the cello was going to stay put. The spray sealer I used dries in about 15 minutes, which is good if you're impatient like me and just want to use the darn thing already!

Step Four:

The best part of any DIY is enjoying your creation! Add a bunch of cute accessories, makeup or use it to organize a desk or coffee table. Whatever you use it for, make sure you keep it near light for maximum unicorn vibes!
